Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 has received its first closed network test. It’s currently available on PS5 from July 21st, 10 AM to July 24th, 9 AM CEST, before returning on July 28th to 31st (with Xbox Series X/S and PC players joining the fray). A new guide is thus available to familiarize players with the mechanics and what to expect.

You can learn more about the new Heat Actions, including Heat Burst, Heat Engager and Heat Dash, and the recoverable gauge. The closed test aims to evaluate network quality and provide a “high-end game experience” with the battle system, destructible stages, combos and more. There are 16 playable characters, with Claudio Serafino receiving a trailer recently showcasing his abilities.

An open beta is likely in the future, though Bandai Namco hasn’t indicated when. Tekken 8 doesn’t have a release date yet, but the publisher assures it will launch before April 2024. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
